If You're Under 6' Tall this Chair is Not for You
This chair receives five stars for feeling like it lives up to the "heavy duty" description (solid and heavy chair). Unfortunately, I had to return it because it gets only one star for comfort. The chair is designed for someone who is tall (not average height). The seat is rather hard and it's not possible to make contact with the backrest if you're on the shorter side due to the depth of the seat. While someone who is at least 6' tall would probably disagree, what will make it uncomfortable to many users is the undersized foot rest. The foot-rest ring requires a sharp knee bend for the back of one's heel to make contact. The foot rest should have been about 3 inches bigger to allow it to match the overall scale of the chair and to more effectively serve the purpose without such a sharp bend at the knee. This chair was a great disappointment given that there are so few drafting chairs that are built as solidly as this one to choose from among (and fewer still that are commercial rated). Thankfully Walmart made it easy to return.

Dangerous product
Arrived with the height adjustment handle shattered into 5 pieces. I put the stool together anyway thinking I could get a replacement handle. There is nothing the pieces of this stool together. The hydraulic column just sits in the wheel base the the seat sits on top of the column. If you lift the stool at all while moving it (lifted slightly to cross the door jamb) it will fall apart. The foot bar is so much smaller than the seat size that you need to be at least 6 feet tall to use. I am 5"7" and my heels would not reach it I gave it two stars because it does seem heavy duty, just don't ever move it.
