5-star chair if there ever was one
This is a fantastic chair, definitely a 5-star product, and worth the mid-$200's price. I have back issues so lumbar support is important, and this chair has it. The mesh back keeps you from getting too hot if you sit in the chair a long time. The seat is thicker than most chair seats, and is firm, yet very comfy. One thing that is strange is most executive chairs I've had, the seat and back both recline/tip back together. This one, the seat stays in place, and just the back tips back a bit. You can adjust the tension -- I had to make mine a lot tighter than it was so it wasn't going back at the slightest pressure. But I'm glad it is adjustable, and now its good. It is nice how the seat itself can go fore and aft -- helps you really dial in the fit of this chair. The only thing that I'm so-so on this chair is the side-to-side movement of the arm rests. I do like that they are adjustable, so you can make them wider or narrower, depending on your body type and preference. However, I find when I lean to the side to pick up something or get something out of a lower desk drawer, the arm rest (which I have on the second notch to the inside) pushes all the way out to its widest spot when I lean against it. Then it is too far out, so I need to adjust it again to where I want it. I love the adjustability both up and down and side to side of the arm rests, I just wish there was a way to lock the side-to-side movement so it wouldn't slide when I lean on it. Other than that, this is a solid chair, extremely comfy, something I can sit in all day. It raises fairly tall, and it stays put and doesn't slide down. As to the reviewer who posted a picture of a broken chair leg -- you obviously abused the chair. Maybe it fell down a flight of stairs? It is very strong -- I'm over 200 lbs, and can't see how one of the legs of the chair could break like that. I would buy this chair again ... oh, wait, I DID! I loved this so much for my office I bought one for my home.
