Huffy Everett 27.5" Men’s Comfort Electric Bike, 36v, 350W, UL 2849 Compliant

Bought the bike last week, here are a few Pro/Cons. 1) Pro. Looks like a very attractive, well-made, mid-range standard bike, even with the "pedal-assist" sticker. In this college town (Johnson City, Tn) flashy e-bikes are big targets for thieves. 2)Pro. Comes 90% assembled. 3) Con. Instructions are meh. Watch the online videos. The rear brakes are fine from the factory, but you WILL have to adjust the front brakes and that can be a chore. 4) Con. At 27.5 inches and 70 lbs, this is a tall, chonky bike. Practice mounting and dismounting out of sight and ear shot of small children to avoid embarrassment. 5) Con. This is a BIG bike and you will need to practice turns, braking and takings bumps in a safe area before taking it on the road. 6) Pro. Disc brakes. They work really well but they cannot defeat Newtons laws, so plan your stopping ahead of time. 7) Pro. Battery life. My first trip was around 12.5 miles using assist level 1 (50%). In second gear I averaged 13.6mph on suburban streets with lots of gentle hills, speed humps and stop signs. This used up approximately 1.5 out of 5 power bars on the meter. I am sure that maintaining higher speeds or taking on longer/steeper uphill sections would reduce this. 8) Con. The seat is meh, but that is easy to replace. 9) Con. The digital read out is very small and only readable when standing still, but you should be watching the road anyway while you are moving. 10) Pro. Front/rear fenders and a CHAIN GUARD. The half pound these add to the weight of the bike is far offset by the headaches and frustration they prevent. Right now I am very pleased with my purchase and I am looking to putting it to more speed/endurance testing.

Would have given 5 stars but the bike was damaged. Working with Huffy on a solution which is still pending. Otherwise seems like a very good bike given the price.
