This is a nice compact toaster which holds a pretty long piece of bread easily. Heats up very quickly and toasts very quickly. Nice crumb-catching drawer (far easier to get to than my old toaster, which had to be flipped upside-down. "Defrost" feature is nice for my wife, who keeps her multi-grain bread frozen. The toaster warms it to room temperature before fully toasting it, which seems to help it from hardening up when it toasts. I cleaned and ran it a couple of times before using it (per the manual) and then tried my first slice of bread. With the varying levels of "doneness" shown on the buttons on the side, it was easy to choose how brown I wanted my toast. It finished my medium-level toast in about 2.5 minutes and worked just fine, though on my slightly larger than average Italian sandwich bread it was toasted a bit too lightly, so I put it in for another 20 seconds or so. The toaster gets quite hot when it's toasting, so I would not use it under a cabinet. I pull it out when toasting because the heat coming out of the top is pretty extreme, more so than my old one. This probably contributes to the fast toasting time. Otherwise, nice unit, convenient to use, and the timer on the front that tells you when your toast will be done is a pretty cool feature as well. My old-school Black %26 Decker couldn't compare!

Pretty cool toaster. I like it way better than the dial kind. It's pretty cool having the countdown timer so you know how much time is actually left. Nice wide slots to fit bagels and gives a nice even toast! I also like the nice stainless steel finish.
