Instructions
. Read all directions before beginning project. Painting Conditions: Use outdoors or in a well-ventilated area such as an open garage. Use when temperature is between 50°F and 90°F (10°-32°C) and humidity is below 65% to ensure proper drying. Do not apply to surfaces that, when heated, exceed 200°F (93°C) or galvanized metal. Avoid spraying in very windy, dusty conditions. Cover surrounding area to protect from spray mist. Preparation: Remove loose paint and rust with a wire brush or sandpaper. Lightly sand glossy surfaces. Clean with soap and water, rinse and let dry. Priming: Use of a Stop Rust® Primer provides added corrosion protection, superior adhesion and hiding and is especially recommended for bare wood and metal. Painting: Shake can vigorously for one minute after mixing ball begins to rattle. If mixing ball fails to rattle Do Not Strike Can. Contact Rust-Oleum. Shake often during use. Hold can upright 12' from surface and spray in a steady back-and-forth motion, slightly overlapping each stroke. Keep the can the same distance from the surface. Keep the can in motion while spraying. Apply 2 or more medium coats applied at a moderate speed. Make sure all corners, edges, and heavily pitted areas where moisture can penetrate are adequately covered. Dry & Recoat Times based on 70°F-50% relative humidity. Allow more time at cooler temperatures. Dries to touch in 15 minutes, to handle in 90 minutes and fully dry in 48 hours. Primers may be top coated immediately. Apply a second coat within 1 hour or after 48 hours. Two coats may be needed to eliminate pinholes and thin spots. Clean-up: Wipe tip of before storing. Clean-up wet paint with Xylol or mineral spirits. Throw away empty can in trash pick up. Do not burn or place in home trash compactor. Clogging: If valve clogs, twist and pull off spray tip and rinse it in a solvent such as mineral spirits. Do not stick a pin or other objects into the stem.

NOTICE: Reports have associated repeated and prolonged occupational overexposure to solvents with permanent brain and nervous system damage. Intentional misuse by deliberately concentrating and inhaling the contents may be harmful or fatal. VAPORS MAY IGNITE EXPLOSIVELY. Keep away from heat, sparks and flame. Do not smoke. Extinguish all flames and pilot lights and turn off stoves, heaters, electric motors and other sources of ignition during use and until all vapors are gone. Prevent build-up of vapors by opening all windows and doors to achieve cross-ventilation. USE ONLY WITH ADEQUATE VENTILATION. Do not breathe dust, vapors or spray mist. Ensure fresh air entry during application and drying. If you experience eye watering, headache or dizziness, wear respiratory protection (NIOSH approved) or leave the area. Avoid contact with eyes, skin and clothing. FIRST AID: If you experience difficulty in breathing, leave the area to obtain fresh air. If continued difficulty is experienced, get medical attention immediately. In case of eye contact, flush immediately with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes and get medical attention; for skin, wash thoroughly with soap and water. WARNING: This product contains a chemical known to the state of California to cause cancer and birth defects or other reproductive harm. KEEP OUT OF REACH OF CHILDREN.
