Rather disappointing
While this unit was the most functional shelving we could find for our particular use, it was disappointing in several respects. It would have been easy to assemble, had all of the holes for been located in the right places. I had to relocate 2 of the receiving gromets by about 1-1/4 inches. The wood shelves are not very good with some chipping and cracking. The finish, such as it is, must have been applied very shortly before packing, as the smell was so strong it is still sitting in the garage to air out. I would have found the unit uacceptable if its intended use was in someplace other than the utility room.

Chipping, misaligned holes, STRONG smell
I had basically the same experience as the previous reviewer. This piece could be beautiful, but the quality is poor. The bronzish colored paint on the metal has some drips and air bubbles. The wood has some chipping, and I agree that it seems as though it was stained right before packaging...the smell was very strong. I also had to really wipe down a couple of my boards. They seemed to still have some excess stain or wax splotches. Luckily after wiping them down, nothing had been affected. A few of the holes were misaligned so assembly is not as quick as it could be. My experience with Hayneedle was great, though. Good communication and fast shipping.
