I bought the small size for my aging basset to envelop him in a very padded, soft bed with all-around bumpers. which he prefers. The small size is too small for him, in that his backside hangs over the edge, but he loves its uber softness and prefers it to the other much larger bed. I've bought a number of dog beds over the years, but this one seems to be their favorite. I have two 65+—lb dogs — one a 115-lb Great Pyrenees, and each enjoys settling down into it for naps. Based on their preference for this bed, it is obvious that I will need to purchase a second and possibly a third to serve as a travel bed.
