Poor fit to the average chair base.
This replacement cylinder is apparently not for the average chair. It DOESN'T FIT THE STANDARD, HEAVY DUTY BASE - it's so narrow that it extends through the base to the floor. I've tried adding washers to the casters to raise the chair but after adding 5 washers to each caster so far, the cylinder still drags on the floor. I'll keep adding washers but this has added over $7 to the cost and I've still got to add who-knows-how-many-more? Oh, and it came without the pictured telescoping cylinder cover. If you're not buying this for a Safco Chair, forget it!
