Simple, cheap and easy to wash in the dishwasher. It won't rust with the plastic top (VS ones with cheap metal tops that are common). I bought extras for each level in the house plus while one is being washed, I have another that's already washed and dry, to fill.

I had been using salt shakers with metal lids, which over a short amount of time, became very difficult to remove the lid to refill the shaker. This has a plastic lid that removes quite easily. WHAT A FIND!!! I live where there is a communal dining room and everyone uses the same salt and pepper shakers…I find this very unsanitary and I hated using them.
