Safety 1st onBoard Slide DLX Infant Car Seat featuring SafetySlide Base

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Before receiving the Safety 1st OnBoard SafetySlide from Stellar Product Testing Panel, I thought the car seat we had for our three-month-old was pretty great—it was lightweight, sturdy, and easy to install. My baby wasn't a huge fan of it, but I figured most babies dislike being strapped in, so I wasn't too worried about it. We tried the SafetySlide, and wow—what a difference! This car seat is pretty darn soft and seems to be comfortable because my baby no longer fusses the moment she's placed in her seat. It honestly feels sturdier and more secure than our previous seat, yet somehow remains lightweight enough for me to carry easily?! This is a huge plus since I'm not the strongest woman out there! One of my favorite features is the loop-style tightening strap… previous seats I had had dangling straps that I found myself tripping over more often than I'd like to admit. I was initially concerned about whether the sliding feature would stay locked, but I was relieved to find a clear indicator on the base that turns green when securely locked and red when it's not (a fantastic safety detail, however I feel it would be extra helpful for my colorblind family members if within the green it also showed a thumbs up or something other than color to indicate it is latched.) The sliding base was delightful because I could put my daughter in the middle seat and still retrieve her without killing my back. It also was a plus because we can now fit 3 adults in the car by moving the carseat to the center. Installation was straightforward and easy with the anchor's latches and honestly, I'm just so thankful my baby is comfortable in it. She's crying less which means I don't have to pull over constantly to pop her pacifier back in! If you're looking for a car seat that balances comfort, safety, and ease of use, I highly recommend the Safety 1st OnBoard SafetySlide!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] First off this infant car seat feels sturdy with a heavy base where the seatbelt either locks the seatbelt in snugly or you can use the quick connect clips. I did appreciate the fact that this seat base felt heavier because it also feels safer. My daughter seemed very comfortable in the seat and she was either smiling or sleeping in it the majority of the time! This is important to us and our baby girl needs to feel comfortable! My favorite feature was the slide out mechanism where you can smoothly slide the base out and attach the car seat without having to lean into the car as it brings your child closer to you. It's a nice, luxurious feature. Overall it is a very nice car seat and I would highly recommend it! I could even fit this seat next two my two older boys car seats- so a successful three across in a bench! This is a nice perk for those looking to have all three kiddos sitting on one row. Now I have a Range Rover Sport and the one feature of this car seat in this particular truck that I wasn't super excited about was that it didn't allow for much legroom in the front seat for my husband because this seat is a bit on the big side when it comes to legroom space. I don't think this would be a problem in our Ford F350 crew cab though, we just happen to enjoy riding in the Range Rover more for our family vehicle.
