Shop-Vac 5 Gallon 5.0 PHP Wall Wet & Dry Vacuum

I originally had a 2006, slightly smaller 4hp version of this vac. Unfortunately the motor got damaged due to outside circumstances that I won't go into. Not the fault of the vac. It ran flawlessly until then. I have to say that I was so bummed out when I lost my beloved vac.I took it apart to try to fix it but it was no longer safe to run.Thankfully I found the new version at Walmart. I will say that there is some confusion in their ad about the HP rating.It is listed as 5hp , 5.5hp and at one place 3hp.I knew the 3hp was wrong but was unsure if I would get the 5 or 5.5hp. To my delight it is 5.5hp ! Also the "Shop-Vac" writing on the front is in white , not red. I like the white MUCH better.Also the mesh bag and hook for the accessories was not included for the one I received but I am perfectly fine with that. Don't need it anyway. Happier to have the white lettering and extra HP. I absolutely LOVE these hanging Shop-Vacs .Powerful ,simple,space saving .The best part is the 1 1/4" hose.There are others with larger diameter hoses.They are a pain to maneuver and wrap up and are heavier .This one is easy. The vac is narrow hanging up , and very light weight if you need to take it somewhere. I don't mean to bash the other popular brand of hanging vac that is trademarked black and red and starts with the letter "C", but If you are considering it , just know that the filter is only about an inch off the bottom of the tank, won't accept paper bag filters, and is VERY hard to remove, especially for those with weak or arthritic hands.The very long cord (20ft.) it comes with may seem great, but it barely fits on the cord wrap. To get the vac off the bracket, the cord must be unwrapped from behind the extension wand and unlocked from the wall bracket hook, then once you remove the vac,the cord wants to unwrap itself from the holder because it's too long to fit. What a pain!The front exhaust baffle is huge and ridiculous. I had bought one first thinking I'd like it, but after almost a week of messing with it ,the bigger, bulkier hose and what I view as design flaws, had me absolutely hating it.I never actually used it because deep down I knew I had made a huge mistake and kept it as pristine as possible hoping I could return it.Thankfully, the place I got it took it back. I then fixed my mistake and ordered this Shop-vac and am thrilled once again. Don't hesitate or look at other hanging vacs.You too will love it.

the shop vac is easy to install. the suction power is excelent and powerful. it is installed in the garage for easy access.
