Instructions
. Preparation. Combine 1 ¾ cups water, 1 cup rice and a pinch of salt. Bring to a boil over high heat. Cover, reduce heat and simmer for 30 minutes. Remove from heat. Let stand covered for a few minutes. Fluff and serve. A rice cooker may be used with the same water-to-rice ratio. 1 cup raw rice yields. 3 cups cooked rice. Use in any rice dish or cuisine, from savory to sweet. Great for pilafs, puddings, salads, soups, stir-fries, and stuffings. Or just enjoy steamed plain with a vegetable, seafood or meat entrée.

FABULOUS FIND - RED RICE
I decided I was going to continue eating healthier after losing 120 lbs. in two years. So my first try was stir-fry meat and veggies. But I really wanted some rice. I had been researching black rice and red rice. Came upon this red rice, read all the positive advantages - WOW!! So I ordered this red rice. Looked so pretty in the package. Well after cooking it and adding to the dinner menu, with just a tad of butter and a bit of salt, the unusual taste burst in my mouth. Nutty taste, abundance of flavor, firm so that you actually get to chew it and know you have had something to eat - (rather than no taste and not really chewing white rice) - it's almost hard to describe the deliciousness of this red rice. And it makes a lot of rice, so I just froze the rest for future meals. Took it out last night to eat with the other package of frozen stir-fry. Still awesome. Now since I ate it plain, I'm looking for other recipes in which to use my new favorite rice. Gosh, this stuff is great.
