Winsome Wood Holly Adjustable Swivel Stool, Black & Espresso Finish

This is a very nice adjustable bar stool. Simple and comfortable. I wanted an adjustable bar stool that wasn't shiny chrome and there are not many of those from which to select. The black base fits in better with my decor. The round metal base has a hidden hard, plastic bottom rim that keeps it from sliding on my tile floor. This bar stool is not as stable as a stool with 4 legs, but an adjustable stool with 4 legs was hard to find and the ones I did find had round seats. So this bar stool will do nicely with all the limitations I was looking for! However, it was not easy to put together. Screwing the top of the lift mechanism to the seat was nearly impossible. The screws are short, but that's not a mistake. The padded seat has to be compressed when you screw in the base, so don't give up too quickly.

We recently gutted our awful kitchen and added a large peninsula. The new kitchen merges with our family room that has dark leather seating. These stools match very well. They were pretty easy to put together. I did all 5 in about 2 hours by myself. I tightened them once since purchase just to be safe. I thought I would retighten them again today but none needed it. They get daily use with 3 teens and two adults so I want to make sure they hold up. Definitely have! The base of the stool with its large circle would not be my first choice because it hides my new wood floor. However, I think these bases are wood floor friendly and have not scratched/marred the floor at all. Because I'm paranoid, I attached a couple of felt sticker feet to the bases. They didn't stay on because I had to custom cut them from little felt circles. Nevertheless, they don't damage wood floors which was a high concern for me. The price was awesome for how they look and the seats and back are cushy. This was a leap of faith for me to buy online and from this company I never heard of, but it all worked out. Before I found these, I had bought two other styles from a local store to try out, and they had to be returned. I hated them, I still had to put them together and these were way easier to assemble and much more comfy.
