My dog is about 8-9 lbs so maybe she is too big to use this like a hammock. It doesn't have a lot of support at the base BUT I do really like it. I lowered it to rest on the seat and it does its job just fine. I'm happy knowing she's secure, comfy, and sitting next to me!
