DHP Emily Convertible Futon, Gray Linen

I am automatically inclined to go to Ikea when i need an inexpensive piece of furniture. I almost ordered an ikea futon online for my sons music room and it came out to over $240 including a $99 delivery fee because there is nowhere worse to go to pick up furniture than IKEA! At the last moment I went on to walmart online. For $170 including delivery we had the couch in 3 days! Upon opening, the instructions were clear and the install was ridiculously simple! (another thing that is the opposite of IKEA that overcomplicates the install of every piece they make!) We got a cool mid century style futon and my sons friends who have slept on it say they found it plenty comfy. Walmart takes some slack but i don't think there is a retailer out there that pushes for value and then passes it on to us the way they do.

For the money this is really a nice product. I would give it 4 stars, but because the discounted price is such a bargain, I gave it 5 stars. It's European-style firm and not soft, but for this type of futon that's perfectly fine. The color is more eggshell or a very light buttery than what you would consider traditional vanilla. It was easy to assemble. One trick to get it upstairs without elevation, like mine e.g. is in the third floor, to "roll" the box step by step upstairs (learned it from the FedEx guy), and that worked perfectly. I haven't slept on it, and my guess is that it's more for those who like to sleep on a firmer surface. The "leather" quality is nice too and looks virtually like real leather. Overall, this futon is worth its discounted price and the quality looks very solid. I think it's one of the best deals out there for this type of futon and quality.
