Well made and attractive.
I like this set. It is replacing a T-Fal set that has rough aluminum rings on the bottom. I have a glass stove top, so I had to be very careful not to scoot the pots and pans or I'd be spending some time with Barkeeper's Friend and a wet cloth. The bottoms of this set are very smooth, so I'm a little more comfortable with them on the glass. The main piece that I use is the saucepan. It is deeper, but not as big around as what I'm used to. I think I like it. I saw some reviewers that were having problems with melting or sticking or staining of the pan onto the glass cooktops. the very first thing I did when I open this set was to take the saucepan, fill it with water and bring it to a boil, cool it off...bring it to a boil, cool it off... five times. No discoloration, no sticking. Of course, I did not turn the stove top on full blast high, and I certainly didn't let it boil dry. Time will tell but I seriously don't see any problems here. I have always washed my pots, pans and knives immediately, while warm, and by hand. A little soap and a soft sponge, you're good to go. I don't know what scrubbing it with scrubby pads or putting them in dishwasher will do, because I never do that. It's a good looking set, seems heavy and durable enough and I think the finish will hold up.
Joy to cook with
Impressive to look at, love the rubber grips on the handles which make for a comfortable grip although they will still get pretty heated. The rounded base is a nice change from all the other dutch oven pots I've had. Appears to be great quality. In trying it, cooking was a pleasure with the non stick surface and clean up a breeze. Set comes with care instructions and a small booklet that includes a few recipes.
Excellent set of cookware!
The Pioneer Woman Frontier Speckle Gray 10-Piece Cookware Set is a value packed set of cookware that should be plenty to meet the majority of your day to day cooking needs. I got the gray colored version and I love how it looks. Aside from looks, this set seems to be pretty sturdy so far. I’ve only used it for just over a week but I’ve seen no signs that it can’t last a good long time. Like every non-stick pan there are a few things you can do to help ensure they will last as long as possible. 1) Always use plastic or wood utensils, never metal. I don’t care if they show some pots & pans able to be used as a mixing bowl. Don’t do it! 2) Never over heat an empty pan. Let it get warm, then add something before cranking up the heat. 3) Never store them stacked up. If at all possible, hand them up so they never are touching each other. These have nice long handles that never heat up too much and even the pot with short handles was able to be easily picked up with bare hands thanks to the soft touch heat resistant coating. For anyone needing an excellent set of cookware that is a fantastic value, I definitely recommend you give this one a try.
