To keep costs down, most people use a system that combines nitrate/nitrite specific resin with standard softening resin. These combo systems provide all the benefits of a nitrate/nitrite filter with the softening ability of a water softener. The lower cost of softening resin also provides a lower price than the nitrate/nitrite only systems. at a cheaper price than a nitrate/nitrite only system. This system comes complete with a brine tank that includes a float assembly for added reliability and peace of mind.
