To keep costs down, most people use a system that combines nitrate/nitrite specific resin with standard softening resin. These combo systems provide all the benefits of a nitrate/nitrite filter with the softening ability of a water softener. The lower cost of softening resin also provides a lower price than the nitrate/nitrite only systems. Controlled by the low cost Fleck 5600SXT, this system provides durability and efficiency in an economical package. The 5600SXT control head is metered, meaning it measures the amount of water used and regenerates only as needed!
