Philips Audio SHP6000 Wired Hi-Fi Stereo Over Ear Headphones Full Cushioned Headband

I'm a very experienced hi fi listener. I bought these phones for use with my PC but tried them with my Denon AV receiver as well as my Samsung smartphone.Initial impressions: muffled treble, slightly muddled bass (i.e. a full bass sound but not really that deep, suggesting they are peaking around 50 - 120hz), needs more obvious midrange. After adjusting the graphic equalizer on my smartphone to boost treble and mid range, they sounded more lively and became listenable.Comfort: around the ear design fits well and relieves pressure on the ears but gets warm due to no flow of air over your ears. The pads could be softer - they are slightly too firm. The phones are fortunately lightweight but stay put on one's head.Physical structure: metal and plastic, they look sturdy enough but only long use will tell.Features: 3 meter long cable is useful, together with 6mm jack adapter. Cable is slightly thicker than other types - not a problem, may actually contribute to durability.Sensitivity - seems average to me, I have used earbud types that were both more and less sensitive.Conclusion: lacking high frequency clarity ('airiness'). Best suited for pop and contemporary music where full bass will please many.Value for money rating 3.5/5. I paid the equivalent of $45 US for them.
