The tint on these "sunglasses" is very, very light, so if you are seeking real protection from the sun, these might not be your first choice. These are definitely more "fashion" glasses. The frame is a durable and shiny black polycarbonate, and the lenses are well-made. The style is not particularly flattering on me, but if you're going for that Iris Apfel look, these are right on target. I have a very large head and these are *very* snug, so unless your head is medium to small in size, these might not be the glasses for you. One thing that I would like to see are spring hinge temples on them. As we all know, glasses get knocked around quite a bit during their useful lives - spring hinge temples would give these glasses quite a bit of a. longer useful life. Other than that, they are stylish and fashion-forward in a very retro way.
