Nice set of plates. Color red is a matte finish. Dinner and salad plates are not large which is good for my family, since everyone just eats their portion. I wash these plates on the china cycle in the dishwasher. So far zero scratches in the plates. This set is on the heavier side since they are stoneware. On delivery one of the salad plates was chipped. I called the company and a replacement was shipped out the following day. The only requirement was to take a picture and send.
