Construction is stable and hasn't torn or melted. The trench around the edges and the rigid design catch spills well and give good coverage with plenty of area around my pots and pans. It's a good safety tool, that I've used to pull pans out of the oven with. And it's very easy to wash, especially by hand in the kitchen sink.
