There Are Things You Need To Know

These are great, but you need to know that they are wax-coated, meaning that for many different forms of ink, they will not adhere in the same way they do on paper, and take a while to dry. What I have observed is that if your design tool uses more ink than will sit on the surface, it will pool up and then will not set until the liquid the ink is suspended in completely evaporates. You can tell when it happens by holding it at an angle and observing if the ink remains reflective. I tested these with a printer, some traditional fine-point Sharpies, and Sharpie brand felt-tip pens, as you can see in the photo, the printer and pen smudged upon being touched, whereas the conventional Sharpie did not. You can even make out the ink pools in some places. The ink eventually dried, but it took a long time. I would leave it for an hour before attempting to handle it at all. Even after drying, some minor smudging still occurred on the pen and printer text. This is not a flaw in the product; it's how wax coating works. It's just something to be aware of before purchasing.
