Uxcell 1/2"-13 UNC 2B 4 Straight Flutes Machine Thread Tap M42 High Speed Steel. M42 is a high-speed steel alloy with 8% or 10% cobalt, with superior red hardness than conventional high-speed steels. M42 is less prone to chipping when used for interrupted cuts and costs less than the same tools made of carbide. Suitable for processing through holes or shallow blind holes . Perfect for drilling and tapping materials below HRC30, such as alloy steel, cast iron, stainless steel, brass, aluminum, etc.. Used on drilling machines, tapping machines, CNC and milling machines. Use with tapping oil to get higher quality threads and more durable taps. Features just the base substrate without any additional coatings, suitable for wide ranges of applications. Machine taps are suggested to be used with tap collets with overload protection. Hand use or electric drills use is easy to cause breakage to the tap, so it is not recommended. Please add coolant when tapping and apply anti-rust oil for maintenance.
