Thinking about a board game table? Get this one!

I want to start off by saying I don't normally write reviews... nor did I get paid to write this one. But as of the time of writing this review... the table doesn't have a review and I know most people are reluctant to buy without hearing from someone first. I had been wanting a board game table for a long time, but some of the name brand board game tables (whose names I won't say) were over $1,000 and the really nice ones several times that price. I tried to build my own, but I think most of us gamers are gamers, not carpenters. Eventually I just realized buying one would be best. This is the table I bought, after much deliberation... AND I LOVE IT. First of all: why did I pick this table and not others? This table has a lot of "premium" features that other board game tables either do not have or have for a higher cost. Unlike most tables, this one has an external rail AND an internal one. I really wanted the internal rail and so few had them. Second: this table comes with a table-topper stand (not sure if that's the right term), but it's where you can put the table leaves after you take them off. It doesn't sound like a big feature... and yet most other tables charge for it or don't have it, but when you take off the leaves surely you don't want them just leaning against your window right? So what were my impressions of the table/delivery/shipping etc.? First of all... it is HEAVY. Shipping was scheduled for two weeks... and it arrived in one. It came in two boxes. One was 101 pounds, the other was 70. This thing is solid! Assembling it was fairly straightforward. The rubberwood or malaysain Oak is a nice color. One thing to be aware of is that several pieces of wood (rails, table top, legs) are joined together so you may be able to see the seams in the wood. The quality is solid and the joinery is clean. But don't expect each piece of wood to be cut from one solid piece of wood. [I would imagine the same is true of more expensive tables.] Regarding the shipping, this table came packaged better than most eggs. The outside boxes arrived beat up and I was worried when I opened it... but none of the structural components were broken much to my relief. There was one screw missing and when I contacted the company (using the email on the instruction booklet inside), I was emailed the next day and a replacement part was shipped to me one day later and arrived shortly thereafter. All in all - this table is great! It's heavy, sturdy, came quick, with great customer service, the cup holders and fit in the rails nicely and it's sturdy. The tabletop slides on nicely and it just looks amazing. There is only one thing I would personally change, and it's making the felt mat inside a little thicker and a little bigger. I imagine that making it larger so it's more snug could be risky, especially since it's wood, but I would definitely invest in a little more padding so my dice can really bounce. That's just my personal preference though :)
