Nice poles

After having purchased elsewhere, some high-classed and highly expensive poles, getting cold feet, I decided to start over. I returned the other poles and called on Hiker Hunger, and after phone calls for help/guidance, I made a decision to buy from this company. I've been practicing with the poles. They will get their true initiation next month, on the real trail. I remain hopeful and confident they are sufficient for me.

Perfect tool to the rescue

It was such a pleasure doing business with Hiker Hunger. They were so responsive when I needed a rush order of collapsible poles to use for a trip to the Pisgah Forest in North Carolina. They got them to me just in time. These poles made it possible for me to do short hikes to some awesome waterfalls. I am an active 80-year-old woman recovering from a new knee plus quad tear surgery. The poles really helped give me stability and balance for walking on uneven trails. The locking mechanism made them feel solid and the cork hand grips were instantly comfortable. They easily collapse for travel and storage. I look forward to using them with the snow basket accessory this winter in Minnesota. I told my sister in Portland, Oregon about them and she immediately ordered a pair. This is an awesome product and Hiker Hunger is a company with exceptional customer service. A totally good experience!

Prelim-Pre-view

So I'm am not a fan of folks who write full review as soon as they receive a product. This review is for the ordering, shipment and receiving of the poles and assembly. Ordering was easy got 10% extra off a sale price which was pretty sweet but that 10% was taken away by shipping fees so check on that. I was good with it. I was not notified for 2 days that it had shipped and thought that was a bit slower than usual but everyone is in a rush these days and that's not a negative. Arrived in good shape and I had to wait to unpack them until today. They are really nice looking and appear to be quality construction. I blew through another companies trekking poles in about 2 years. They were carbon fiber and the aluminum sleeve around one section began to shave off slivers of carbon and I found it increasingly difficult to collapse. I donated them to Camino walker in Spain last year and have been without. This time I gave up a few ounces for high grade aluminum. A video QR code is enclosed to demonstrate assembly but if you've had other tri fold poles it's the same deal. Undo the Velcro strap let the pieces hang down and gently pull the sections together then give the pole a harder rug until the silver button pops out just underneath the top section to lock everything in place. Adjust the length of the top section and lock it down. It should be somewhat firm to lock down so the top section doesn't collapse. The straps are easily adjustable. Pull back on the bottom part of the strap and a black peg pops out of the handle. The top strap can then be shortened or lengthened to your preference. Insert your hand from below the strap for secure grip I love the cork handles my poles and this one is ergonomically comfortable. Looking forward to putting these poles through the paces here in New England. Nice job folks!
