This is the best design for weight distribution, do refer to professional weight recommendations for the size of the child. A few hints: Install the longest weights first, the blanket will weigh less as you wrangle the heavier Tie a ribbon/shoelace etc. to the end of the hook. Feed the hook through the blanket so it just peeks out the other side, use the ribbon to pull the hook and weight back through the blanket.

The weights are nearly impossible to get into the blanket. It comes with a hook that you are supposed to be able to pull the weights through the very narrow chambers, but it is not long enough, and it is not sturdy enough. So it lost its shape and is not effective in pulling the weight through. It has taken way too long to install the weights and no OT or parent has the kind of time that this blanket needs to set up! Worst design ever!!
