Great Value Crunchy Peanut Butter, 40 oz

I did not originally buy this peanut butter primarily for human consumption. I bought it to use as a binder for my bird suet. I like to put out suet, especially in the winter, and right now we are in the big ice storm of 2026. So while I am trapped inside the house I am making suet. I use equal amounts of lard and crunchy peanut butter as a binder for all my seeds and grains. I have been using another brand, but it is so full of peanut chunks that it does not actually provide much binding material. So, I decided to try the Great Value brand. Now that I have tried it, I actually prefer it over the brand I had been using, which costs twice as much. And, I like it both for the birds and for my personal consumption. It has plenty of peanuts to satisfy my need for ‘crunch', and to provide a little treat for the birds. But the somewhat less volume of peanut chunks allow it to provide more binder for bird food, and make it easier to spread on bread for me. And the taste is excellent. In summary, in the Great Value crunchy peanut butter I found a product with similar great taste, a more manageable amount of peanut chunks which was easier to spread, and with more bird seed binder. And it came at a much better price than my old brand. I have included a pic to show comparisons. In the picture of the two jars, the Great Value is on the left. You can see that it has a nice amount of chunks, whereas the other jar is almost solid chunks with not much peanut butter. There is nothing wrong with that, but it is not what I needed. As a side note, you can see that the protective seal did come off of the other jar more easily and completely than it did on the Great Value. It didn't matter much to me, but it will to some. I have also included a couple of pics with it being actually used in the suet. I melt, mix, and then pour into 5 oz paper cups for freezing. Then I just slide them out of the cups and into the feeders. Now that I have tried this peanut butter, it will be my go to, both for the birds and for myself.
