I was disappointed with my order. The royal jelly arrived warm, not cold, and both ice packs were completely melted, despite the product being shipped in a cooler. Fresh royal jelly is supposed to be kept refrigerated, so this was concerning.
What disappointed me even more was the company’s response. They claimed that several days without refrigeration do not affect the quality or potency of fresh royal jelly and compared it to temperatures inside a beehive reaching over 100°F. I don’t find that explanation convincing. Royal jelly in a beehive is continuously produced and consumed in a living colony, which is not the same as a jar being transported and stored during shipping. Using the beehive temperature as proof that shipping a refrigerated product warm is acceptable is misleading.
I don’t believe the explanation they provided, and it did not address my concern about the product arriving without proper refrigeration. If you’re purchasing fresh royal jelly because you expect it to remain cold during transit, be aware that it may arrive warm, and in my experience the company will tell you that’s normal.
