I had a very old, 20 yr old model %26 I love this design! I use the attachment more than anything. I put everything in Mason Jars %26 seal away! I make sure the lid "clicks" letting you know thecair is out. If I dont hear the click on the first go around I do it a 2nd time %26 it never fails. It seals so tight, I have to use the canning jar opener to get the lid off!. I've had no issue canning a lot of quick items or things I don't use very often. There are jars as small as 4 oz %26 1 gallon ones! The regular sealer is awesome! My old one was hysterical! I'd end up cursing getting 1 bag sealed! My dh said, Just buy one already!,I'm"cheap" %26 always put off replacing things. Anyhoo....love these! Forgot to mention bags for sealing w/attachment. They are great!

Great new developments in FoodSaver technology :)

We had an older FoodSaver that (after a decade-plus of regular use) was starting to work less well, so we finally decided to replace it. As soon as this new one arrived, I wondered why we waited so long. It works with our old FoodSaver containers--the kind you used to have to seal with a plastic tube--which I was worried about, and even better it is SO. MUCH. QUIETER. Anyone who owned an old-model FoodSaver knows what I'm talking about: that thing was LOUD, so much so that I'd feel bad using it if we had guests over. The new handheld vacuum sealer is almost silent, and I think it works more quickly too. The whole setup has been working great, and I really love that it comes with the reusable ziptop bags in addition to single-use bags. (Incidentally, the little U-shaped plastic doohicky is for sealing the ziptop bags--that's not explained anywhere in the instructions but I found it online somewhere.) The wine sealer works phenomenally too. It's worth replacing your old FoodSaver if you've been on the fence, or buying a new one if you don't own one already. Get one of the storage containers too, and you can make guacamole that stays fresh in the fridge for days after :)

I have always wanted one of these and I am so glad I finally purchased one. The machine is easy to use and store since it is small. I buy meat in bulk and was noticing a lot of freezer burn when just using normal freezer bags so I thought it was time to try this. I am so glad I did vacuum sealing saves space and all meat is way fresher in the freezer. The suction is powerful
