Love/hate Relationship with Sound

I hd a pair of chair speakers for about ten years that worked great. These are not near as good. They do beat the others with staying steady on my chair as it moves (a recliner). The worst thing is trying to adjust volume. When trying to first use them we had a lot of issues. My husband ended up mounting the device on top of our 70" tv. ANYTHING can cause the sound to go out: a glass, person, reading material, etc. Even though the line of sight is from above the tv. If I use my hand to change volume the device cuts out until my hand is out of way. It makes tuning them to get the correct volume you want a guessing game. With all the new technology available today you would think turning a knob lower or higher would be no issue. Instead it is a big pain.
