When the box was opened one of these cans was badly dented at the top.It took awhile to manually pry it open enough to then get a handheld opener to open it a little more and then was able to use the electric one. I only kept it because I needed the contents for my Easter baking and couldn't wait for a replacement. Thie other can was fine so I'm wondering if it was dropped by the packer or it was already damaged %26 was packed anyway. Either way I'm not happy about the condition of the can but the package did arrive very quickly with no damage to it at al!! Hmmm!

It's dye free. Yes, the cherries are going to have a brownish coloration. They're not bad; they just haven't had a dye that's banned in many countries added to it. A lot of people need to avoid said dye for themselves or their children and it's unfortunate you have to pay extra for that. I made a cherry cranberry pie with this and it was delicious. I've also poured it over vegan cheesecake. Great product.
