Don't roast meat without it!

Since I purchased this meat thermometer a month ago, I've used it twice for roast beef. Very accurate temperature made for a perfect 180 degree well done roast beef for my husband, who likes it without a speck of rareness but not dried out. He said from the first slice to the last, it practically melted in his mouth. I believe that this thermometer made the difference. It also washed up easily and is ready for its next victim, maybe a roasting chicken.

I love its simplicity and easy of use

I'm old school in my kitchen and love this simple, stainless thermometer. I had ordered this in the past and it was out of stock, so I accepted the fancy digital one they offered as a replacement. It worked great, but being as rough as I am sometimes on things, especially when in a hurry, I broke it. With this old school version, that is not a concern. The stem is thick and sturdy and there are no moving parts that I have to fool with while using it. Years ago I didn't know how this worked so I left it in whatever I was cooking when I put it in the oven. DON'T DO THAT. The plastic cover on the dial melted. BUT... I removed what remained of the cover and the thermometer still worked perfectly for over a decade. There's noting needed for turning on this thermometer. The display is so easy to read and the indicators mark what temps for which meats. There is no guessing or trying to remember which temps are best for which types of meats.
