AcuRite Digital Meat Thermometer & Kitchen Timer with Pager allows you to monitor food temperature within a 200 feet range while the oven, grill, fryer, slow cooker, smoker or bib door or lid is closed. Advanced, patent-pending algorithm estimates the time left to cook. The commercial quality, stainless steel probe measures internal food temperature during cooking and features a 3 feet 700 degrees Fahrenheit heat resistant cord. Easy-set rotary dial lets you select one of the USDA recommended temperature presets or set your own temperature or time. When the target food temperature is reached the wireless pager alerts with sound, light and vibration. The meat thermometer features a countdown/count up kitchen timer and a blue momentary backlight. Thermometer display powered by 3 AA batteries. Wireless pager powered by 2 AAA batteries. One-year limited warranty. It's more than accurate, it's AcuRite.

Great indoors; disappointing for outdoor grills
I purchased this primarily wanting to use it with my outdoor gas grill. Although the probe cable can supposedly tolerate 400 degrees and I carefully kept it away from direct flame, three sensors "fried" on me before I finally gave up trying to use it outside. I now use it indoors with the kitchen oven and it works well in this environment. We never cook by time anymore, but by desired internal temp. Very pleased using it for this application.
