You could find many uses for the different sizes in this set. Up to you! I poured a 4 lb. bag of sugar in the large 10 cup container and had ample room to add an extra cup I had previously stored in a jar. With ample space for closing at the top. I used the medium sized 7.5 cup container for 2 lb. of flour. I haven’t made use of the small 4.5 cup container yet, but it would be perfect for certain candies, snacks, tea bags, protein/granola bars. Maybe to store some non-food whatnots even. A separately purchased 6.5 cup container in this line in being used to hold protein bars.) Just remember the open/close flip top handle is not - I repeat, not - a pick up, carrying handle. I have several different brands of clear or opaque airtight containers, and none have actual carrying handles. You just gotta pick the whole thing up. These may look like it’s a handle. But it’s more of a latch. If you try to use it as a handle, you’re just gonna open the thing. It is possible to lift up one of these, depending on what it’s holding and total weight, by placing a thumb on a side of the container where latch is down (not side of latch, mind you) and a finger or two against the side of the actual latch on the opposite side, but that’s about the only way to lift these up from the top, which is more than I can say for other brands of airtight containers I have. Probably don’t want to try this unless it’s empty or pretty light altogether. I have 4 sets of these for pantry and cabinet storage. I love them because the stack saving space and when you lock the lid it stays fresh for a very long time. Flour and sugar can stay for months ( I use mine sparingly). These canisters are hands down some of the best I have ever purchased. 2 of my sets are over 4 years old. These are kid friendly for snacks, easy to open and easy to close with little effort. Understand that these are for pantry or counter storage: to store or hold dry items only. Do not place liquid inside for storage or put in the refridgerator.😊
