As accurate as much more expensive ones

This candy/meat thermometer has been working just fine (so far), so I can't see spending more for similar products. I especially like that the bulb of the thermometer is slightly recessed, so that it will not sit against the bottom of a cooking pot or pan and readings will be accurate. It gives you the temperature of the thing you're cooking, not the thing you're cooking it in or the flame below it. One fault: the adjustable pot hook slid off the thermometer when I washed it. Not a big deal, but the slider does not fit tight. It moves freely and there is nothing to stop it from sliding off the end of the unit. such as a nib or a notch or something. I put a small piece of rubber between the slider and the body of the unit, which solved the problem. Now it is still adjustable, but stays put.

Better than old glass thermometer

I've had two glass candy thermometers crack and break (kitchen help, careless). I swore I'd never purchase another one. Then I found this one. Easier to use MUCH sturdier. Easy to clean and also store. I have it hanging from a kitchen rack. Pretty sure this one will last forever.

Great thermometer!!

This thermometer is great for making candy and deep frying. It's very easy to read. It just sits on the side of the pot so it can stay in it while the pot is getting hot. It also markers on it to show you where temp should be depending on what you are cooking.
