MuscleMeds Carnivor Ready to Drink Beef Protein, 40g Isolate, Lactose & Sugar Free, Fruity Cereal, 16.9oz (12 Pack)

I'm an older woman in need of extra protein, but I couldn't find a protein shake that didn't have a lot of carbs. Many of them are made with milk, too, which would constipate me, and they tasted so good that I'd drink more than I was supposed to. (I'm a sugar addict.) Then I sort of stumbled across this brand (MuscleMeds) and thought the ingredients were just what I was looking for. But, oh my! The negative reviews (on Amazon) were abundant! I went ahead and ordered the sampler pack anyway, just to try them, and I steeled myself, getting ready for just how horrible it was going to be. I figured I'd try to "put up" with the taste if it meant getting in that extra protein that I'm needing. I opened up the Fruity Cereal and...didn't notice any "bad" odor. I slowly took it back to my chair, sat down, and cautiously took a very small drink. Wow! I don't know what I was expecting, but I wasn't expecting to like it at all. However, I did! Like others reported, it is very sweet...but not the kind of sweet that would make me want to down another right after. Lol! I was really pleasantly surprised. Yes, it does have a "different" taste...maybe a bit "plasticky," but I found it very easy to drink (didn't have to hold my nose or gag). The quality and texture were great, and it was very filling. I am certain that I can drink just one and be full for hours. The cost was very comparable to other brands, so I thought it was a good value. I can drink these, and I am so happy to have found this product! Thank you! I haven't tried the other flavors yet, but if they're as good as the Fruity Cereal, I'll keep buying! UPDATE: I liked them so much that I ordered 12-packs of the Chocolate and the Fruity Cereal from Walmart!
