I always buy sweet baby rays. Bought this flavor thinking I was grabbing my usual. Got home went to start my crockpot meatballs and realized what I had done. Didn't have time to reconsider so I went with it. I'll tell you I'm soooooo glad I did!! They were the best meatballs ever!! So next to try it on some ribs!!

Can't go wrong

Can't go wrong with Sweet Baby Ray's BBQ Sauce. There's a reason they are America's number one selling "Q" Sauce. Great balance of flavor, taste and aroma. Been buying this for many years and will continue to do so. This is a Must Have in my cabinet or refrigerator for a very long time, just in case. It's good for pulled pork, BBQ chicken sandwiches, Oh, and don't mention the ribs or Boston Butt. They have many different flavors and I try some of the others sometimes. Give em a try.

Sweet heat that actually delivers

Sweet heat that actually delivers without setting your mouth on fire…. I bought this 40 oz jug of Sweet Baby Ray's Sweet 'n Spicy because I was hosting a backyard cookout and wanted something that would please the crowd without being boring. The original Sweet Baby Ray's is already a classic, but I was curious if the sweet and spicy version would actually have any kick or just be the same sauce with a few red flecks thrown in. The first thing I noticed when I opened it is the smell. It has that signature Sweet Baby Ray's sweet, tangy, smoky aroma, but there's an extra peppery note underneath that tells you something different is going on. The color is a deep, dark red-brown, and the sauce is thick and glossy—it clings to a spoon without dripping right off. I used it on grilled chicken thighs and pork ribs, brushing it on during the last 15 minutes of cooking. The flavor is a pleasant surprise. You get the sweetness up front, thanks to the molasses and high fructose corn syrup, but then a mild heat from the jalapeños creeps in at the end. It's not a face-melting spice, just a warm tingle that makes you want another bite. My wife, who isn't a spice person, actually liked it. It's the kind of sauce that works on everything from burgers and tenders to mac and cheese. The 40 oz bottle is huge, which is great for a party, but a little awkward to handle. I ended up pouring some into a smaller squeeze bottle for easy use. The jug has a twist cap, and the opening is wide enough that you don't need to pound it to get the sauce out. My only complaint is that the sauce is quite sweet. The label says 15 grams of sugar per 2-tablespoon serving, and you can taste it. If you are looking for a savory, vinegar-forward sauce, this isn't it. But if you like a sauce that balances sweet and heat, this is a solid choice. I'm hoping this big jug stays good for a while. The "best by" date is about a year out, and the directions say to refrigerate after opening. For now, it's exactly what I wanted for summer grilling. Sweet enough to please the kids, spicy enough to impress your brother-in-law
