I was hopeful that this would work for my 2 dogs that hate having their nails cut or filed but love to "shake" with their paw. I'm so glad I went for it and bought this scratch pad! My dogs love it. please watch videos on the correct way to use it though. It really does file their nails down but they love it because they know they are getting a treat when they scratch it. I prefer to hold it upright and slightly slanted and have them "shake" and they get a treat when they scratch the board. I don't even have to say shake now because they know if they scratch it they get rewarded. My dogs had it down my the 3rd time ( spread out between a few days). I still have to quickly snip the back claws but totally worth it not to do the front!

At first my dog looked at me like I was crazy putting a treat in the container and closing it. Eventually he figured it out and it works on his nails. He has also figured out that he can sometimes get a nail in the gap and slide it open without digging so I'm having to trick him. It's heavy duty and really imho a good value for the money

I highly recommend this board. I have problems clipping my dogs nail. He is a big baby when it comes to anything that is maintenance. Clipping his nails is a scream match. I placed the food in the hiding place and he figured it out within the hour. I'm going to have to buy a second board so my other dog can use it. Easy to use and accomplished the task I bought it for.
