A super bargain--or is it?
A microwave of this size and power, made (in the usual place) for a reputable brand, for $84? There must be a catch; and there is. It's not deactivating the child-resistant latch. Honestly, if you can't hold 2 buttons down and press a third, get a child to help you. You will need to repeat this when the power's been out, so save one of the several sets of instructions for this 5-second process. The catch is programmability. This oven cannot be programmed to start cooking at one power level and then change to another. Not even the preset buttons let you do this. I recommend this unit as a super bargain if you find it at the price I paid. It now seems to cost a third more. At the higher price, you'd probably be better off with something else. Side note: Emerson is known for its ovens that use inverter technology. This isn't one of them.
