Meater Pro XL - “Smoker Multitasking” possible
I used one of the original Meaters for years. It's been a great wireless thermometer. I upgraded to the Meater Pro XL for its ability to manage multiple cooks at the same time. I am now on the Carnivore Diet and have to cook several things on the weekend so that I will have lunches during the week. Having only one smoker, I must manage multiple cooks with different internal temps. Getting everything to come off the smoker at near the same times is tricky, but the 4 probes make this manageable and even fun. They have been reliable and accurate and easier to insert and clean after the cook.

I bought this after getting my Kamado Joe and it's game changing. Have 2 or 3 steaks, with different rareness desires, set up each probe and off you go. Almost doesn't matter what temperature you have inside the grill, these probes will figure it out for you. Few things I learned: 1. Keep the Pro XL base quite close to the grill. I just have it on the window sill on the inside of the porch where the grill is. Further away, I was losing connection, but it's rock solid. 2. Used it at least a dozen times now. Haven't needed to charge the base yet. 3. Clean the probes with soap and baking powder (skip the water initially). Gets the char right off. 4. Fantastic for rotisserie cooks. First time I did it the probe must have touched the center metal so the 5 internal probes only reported the lowest temp. Without that, I would have undercooked my food. 5. The app is amazing, but it took me a little bit to figure out you actually have to dismiss the alerts otherwise they keep repeating so I thought I was getting spammed. No longer a problem.
