Taste Like Homemade Cabbage Moma Used To Make

They were seasoned just great. I want bigger pieces of cabbage instead of the smaller pieces they use. It's all good, though, mixing your cabbage with mashed potatoes.

Country cookin' for old Ladies

I am 84, and the ease of cooking the amount in the can was so much easier for me. I have heard people say canned items don't taste as good, but it is all the way in which you cook it. I either add some crispy bacon, or a piece of ham, and let it steam in my little crock pot for a while. Even a piece of corned beef could be added. Cook a small pan of cornbread and I have a good meal. Sometimes I add a couple teaspoons of cream of chicken soup to make the pot likker a little thicker. It's great!I was born and raised in the south, learned to cook at an early age, and love veggies. Canned Blackeye peas are delicous cooked that way too.
