Good things come in small packages

I like the compact dimesions of this electric wheelchair, which helps me zip smoothly around the house. In 2011, at age 60, I was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease and started a search for the best mobility device to use during my "off" times, when I would freeze in place, unable to move any faster than a few feet per hour !) I started with a "hiking" stick (I refused to call it a "cane"), then moved to two sticks which proved a great improvement. Then I bought a "walker-with-wheels" (A.K.A. a "rollator"). Everything up to that point was "manual"- sticks and walkers and rollators don't move by themselves. You need to push them in the direction you want to go and hope they will help you keep your balance. But unless you provide the push they can't do much. Wouldn't it be nice to have a device that can both push and help you keep the balance? I discovered the world of electric mobility devices. So now I own both an electric scooter which can travel 15 MPH and travel 40 miles without needing a recharge, and last but not least, I just bought this wonderful, battery powered "Zip'r" wheelchair to help around the house. Other than it's compact size, I like the power, balance, stability and minimal turning radius of my new "Zipr Transport Lite" folding Electric Wheelchair". And, my experience helps me appreciate at a glance the wisdom of its design. E.g. I have read some critiques saying that it is too heavy. Well, sure, compared to some feather weight designs , 90 lbs is heavy, but not heavier than it needs to be to help an adult get in and out of it when stopped. Ever tried to lean on a sub-40lb wheelchair while attempting to stand up or sit down? The Zipr Transport Lite is and feels solid as a rock, especially with both breaks engaged. Another criticism is that it may be too fast. Two things to consider here. 1. the sensation of speed changes as one become more profficient in using a specific piece of equiment. Certainly I wouldn't use my 15 MPH scooter to maneuver around the living room. And I think the designers of the Zip'r wheelchair made the right decision to give the operator a fast, convenient finger-tip ability to adjust the top speed down to what feels safe. All in all, I can't think of anything I wish had been designed in to this package of mobility fun, except perhaps ...a tray to hold picnic supplies (?) But remember, this is a wheelchair, not an SUV! And as a wheelchair, with an adequate carrying capacity of tools and snacks for a short picnic it is hard to beat.

Love

It is just what I need for a bit of independence every time I USE this chair, people ask me about it! I say I LOVE IT because I do. It gives me independence and allows me to keep up with my adult children what could possibly be better than that?

Sturdy and easy to use

We like the ease of use and speed controls. It seems sturdy and the tires can not go flat! Only used it once but it seems like it'll work great for us
