Great lodge 12" skillet lid!!

I was looking for a lid for our 12" lodge skillet. I made the mistake of thinking a cheaper model from the local hunt fish camp store Would work. Although it was cheaper, the quality was much inferior. The edges were rough and it lacked durability in appearance and weight. I immediately returned it the next day and ordered the lodge model.. So glad I did!! Lodge products.. Only the original from now on!

I grew up with cast iron cookware. Unfortunately I was unaware of it's value. That has changed now that I cook myself. I have purchased cast iron cookware from Walmart, because of its cost value. I cannot express enough on the value of this cookware. It will last a lifetime. If you are thinking about any other cookware - stop! You have found the best cookware for the value. Please order this product. You will be very happy you did.

Perfect Fit On My Dad's Little Egg Skillet

An early riser as a boy, because my Dad was an early riser, I remember him cooking a single egg and brewing the coffee every morning before he left work. The egg was always garnished with a little French's mustard. Fast forward to a day when I was fast approaching senior citizenship and I found that little egg skillet in the big drawer under at the bottom of my Mother's stove. Tuning the familiar little skillet in my hand, she reminded me that it was Dad's skillet that he used every morning to cook a single egg, and the memories flooded back. I read like a book, and she knew me well, which is probably why she told me I could have that little skillet. A greater gift nobody could ever give. Now a full-fledged senior citizen and maintaining a salt restricted diet, the last year has been experimenting with a scratch chili that would give me the taste and pepper "heat" that it enjoyable. Containers in the freezer filled with 3 cups of chili are defrosted one at a time for three low salt meals. No finding any ovenware for heating one cup at a time, started looking at cast iron restaurant cup size cookware and to my surprise saw a 6 inch skillet cover for my Dad's skillet. I'll check WalMart before deciding where to buy onlin because of their reliability and in-store delivery. Sure enough, I found the Lodge 6 inch cover, and bought it. My little skillet now cooks both single eggs, garnished with French's mustard, heats scratch chili in oven or on the stove-top, and, slow cooks cooks small portions of sautee. In the picture, a cheddar cheese bread open face sandwich is under the larger cover on the hot grill.
