I love the flaired out leg bottoms as it makes the stool, skid %26 tipping resistant! Even when used outside on, sand, dirt, or rocky uneven surfaces, it feels secure %26 safe. It clearly states height of 9 inches, it also states 300 lb weight bearing capacity, in product details! I am 5'6 and getting to the top shelf of my closets is difficult and not safe. This is perfect to lift me up so I can reach boxes %26 items out of my closet. Because it doesn't take up much space in any of home's rooms, I actually have 2 on the 1st floor and a 2- step ladder in my basement for the same purpose.
