It is sturdy! As compared to something that I originally bought through Lowe's for about $10. Don't worry this one cost more but it's really worth it to get this brand of B%26R stepstool so much sturdier than the others. You don't want a stepstool that's going to fold up on you or collapse. I don't think this one will. I've had another colorful one this brand I've owned for 25 years. The kids have used it and so have I And it's continued to be sturdy. So it's worth the money. I purchased this one for my older brother who needed to be able to reach a higher shelf in the pantry. It's very sturdy.
