21 inches - until you sit in it,
I got it because it was one of the tallest ones - said to be 21 inches for the seat height. Though it has a very thick, nice cushion/pillow, when you sit on i, it's more like 16 and 1/2 inches - which is not good if you have knee or back problems. But I love the high back. It does not lean too far back, as many do - so there is a lot more support. The softness of the material is very nice - I'm just not sure how long it will last . Overall, it's a good chair for the price.
