Great Modern Desk Lamp

Well worth the extra price. Others, that are similar, do not have the same quality. This has the larger, round black lampshade. The pull chain is also nice. The whole nickel lamp shows quality. Altough it states for 48 Watts, don't be mis-guided. You can safely use the new Energy Efficient CPL bulbs and one up 100 watts. They only use 23 watts and produce very little heat. The brightness is so great, you won't notice any difference. Of course, if you use the old fashion bulbs, that are slowly being discontinued all over, & you should only use a regular 25 to 60 watt bulb. They do give off a lot of heat and that could do damage to the shade. Others around can be cheaper but have a square black shade and different on & off switches. Their quality is not the same. Chrome bottoms, I think - Not nickel. I rate this as A+. You won't be disappointed ! Alan In Florida
