I bought a 6 X 9 and yes it comes vacuum packed. I hung the rug, steamed out the creases and used a blow dryer to fluff it up fast. They say in the directions to let it lay flat for 48 hours but i was so happy with the quality i wanted to speed up the process. Beautiful Area Rug, I'm def. buying a couple more for around the house
