Poor Design

Installed as per instructions. The pivoting part sits WAY to far from the wall. Looks like a sloppy installation. Thinking about using another product except I already have the same towel bar ring.

Disappointed Designers and Users

My husband and I are both architects and selected the Alteo for our vacation rental property based its appearance. We are so disappointed that it constantly malfunctions and is a big headache: The pivot arm often comes completely off its base- resulting in calls from renters saying its "broken". We have spent our time comforting the guests/users and spent $ hiring a handyman each occurrence to come to return the pivot arm to the base. This is certainly not what we expected when we chose a Kohler product. The hole spacing limits our replacement options. Because it is mounted to the side of a vanity, we do not want to damage the furnishings. Big disappointment.

Buyers Beware! This holder will never be flush!

I wish I had read the reviews before purchase and install. There is a design flaw which will never allow the tissue holder to be flush. This was installed professionally, used a stud on one side for extra support as recommended. The added allen wrench does NOT take care of the problem. The matching towel bar is fine. My question to Kohler: Please suggest an alternative toilet paper holder that closely matches the Alteo towel bar. The finish is bronze. Seems like Kohler needs to reexamine its engineering staff. :(
